Steve J. Steffel is the Manager of Distributed Energy Resources and Analytics in Asset Strategy and Planning at Pepco Holdings Inc. in Washington DC. He has been involved in developing the System Planning criteria and requirements for Distributed Energy Resources and is actively working on implementing various mitigation strategies for intermittent resources. He has worked in various departments such as Distribution Planning, Transmission Planning, System Operations, Switchmen Training, and Engineering Standards. His areas of expertise are in distribution planning and evaluating, developing and integrating new technology into the electrical grid. Steve is a senior member of the IEEE and a registered professional engineer in New Jersey and Maryland. He earned a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Drexel University and an MBA degree from University of Baltimore.
