Ben Stutz


Ben has spent 14 years working in local, State and regional public policy and administration. He currently serves as Special Assistant to Director Tommy Wells at the District Department of Energy and Environment and leads the Department’s Green Economy initiatives – including green workforce and financing programs.  Ben formerly served as the Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director to Lieutenant Governor Anthony G. Brown of Maryland where he focused on public-private partnerships, health care and public safety.  Prior to joining the State, Ben worked on smart growth, transportation and environmental issues in Montgomery County, Maryland.

A product of Brooklyn, NY, Ben earned a BA in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, a MA in Peace and Justice Studies from the University of San Diego and an MBA from the University of Maryland Smith School of Business.  Ben and his wife, Danielle, live in Washington DC.
